On July 28, according to a new report from the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, in the first half of this year, the growth rate of Ethereum’s transaction volume exceeded that of Bitcoin.

The report acknowledged that the first half of this year was one of the most active periods in the history of cryptocurrency, with several historical highs in terms of price, user adoption and trading activity.

The report’s data obtained from 20 exchanges around the world shows that during this period, the transaction volume of Bitcoin reached 2.1 trillion US dollars, an increase of 489% from the 356 billion US dollars in the first half of last year. Ethereum’s total transaction volume reached 1.4 trillion US dollars, but its growth rate was faster, an increase of 1461% from the 92 billion US dollars in the first half of 2020. Coinbase said this is the first time in history.
