Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted a conference on Crypto in India on Saturday.
Participants at the meeting included the Reserve Bank of India, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Interior, as well as experts from all over the country.
Officials at the meeting agreed that some Crypto platforms are misleading young people in the country and it is necessary to stop related advertisements. The meeting was held a few days after the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Shaktikanta Das issued a warning to Crypto. He also warned investors of potential pitfalls.
Shaktikanta Das said that the impact of the Crypto market on the country’s macroeconomic and financial stability is worrying. Other lawmakers in India have also expressed concern about the misuse of XI money and the use of Crypto to finance terrorist activities. Nevertheless, more and more Indians are using Crypto. In recent weeks, several Bollywood stars have even participated in the promotion of Crypto transactions. In March, the Indian government considered passing a law banning Crypto and imposing fines on anyone who trades or even holds such digital assets in the country.
